If you joined my blogging journey, congratulations. That is the first step.

Welcome to my new blogging challenge.

For more info, see this tweet.

Whether you are a beginner or want to be more consistent on your blogging journey, this post is for you. I want to share more insights on how we can all write more valuable and impactful blog posts. I’m thrilled to have you join us on this exciting adventure of creativity, learning, and growth.

Starting something new can be intimidating, but remember, every great journey begins with a single step. This challenge isn’t just about blogging/ writing—it’s about deciding to start something and unleashing your creativity. Everything starts with a plan. In this blogging challenge, I want to make things as simple as possible for you.

Get a blank page and start your content plan.

Create the following simple content plan for March (Or when you start this).

You can do this on many tools.

  • A blank notebook
  • A MS Word Doc
  • Google Docs
  • Google Sheets
  • Trello, Notion, Evernote etc.

My tip on choosing a topic:

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the blank page? Start by brainstorming topics that excite you, resonate with your audience, and align with your blogging goals. Think about your expertise, experiences, and interests—what do you want to share with the world? Choose a topic that sparks curiosity and ignites conversation. It does not have to be perfect.

Example: In the table above, I chose content for an environmental sustainability consultant.

Write the blog

I always start my blog posts on a Word doc/ or a Google doc, and I save them on Notion as well. This helps me free-write first and then paste it to my blogging platform. It also helps to keep my posts in a folder and incase my blogpost ever went down,  (God forbid), I would have a place with all my posts. I would suggest that you do the same and it also helps you edit easier.

Writing structure

It depends on what types of blog posts/ articles you write on the internet. For example a Twitter (X) long form will not have the same format as a blogpost. Pick the structure that works for you. You cannot go wrong with the good old intro, body, and conclusion structure.

Begin with a compelling introduction to hook readers. In the body, elaborate on the main points logically, using headings and subheadings for organization. Conclude with a summary or call to action. Keep paragraphs concise and incorporate visuals for enhanced readability and appeal.

For this week, I will not bombard you with a lot of stuff. Once you are done with the challenge, share your link on X (Twitter) with the tag #ContentwithJean
